How do you reach the Balkan region?
This region boasts of several international airports. The major ones include:

•Tirana, Albania: Tirana's "Mother Teresa" International Airport is situated at a distance of 15 minutes from the heart of the city. Several European flag carriers like British Airways, Alitalia, Lufthansa, Austrian, and Germanwings - the low cost airline provide service to the airport.
•Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina: Sarajevo Airport is located in Butmir suburban area, comparatively near the city center. Some of the airlines serving this airport include BH Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Croatia Airlines, and JAT Airways.
•Sofia, Bulgaria: This airport is situated 10 km from the city center. It has two terminals. Bulgaria Air, which is the national carrier, flies to several destinations. Some of these are Amsterdam, Athens, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, and Fiumicino in Rome.
•Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Croatia: The Dubrovnik Airport is served by Croatia Airlines, Aer Lingus, Hapag Lloyd Express, Estonian Air, Thomsonfly, and British Airways. Some others include Easyjet, SkyEurope, Ryanair, and Vueling.
•Athens, Thessaloniki, Greece: Makedonia International Airport in Thessaloniki has direct connecting flights to Athens, Belgrade, Rome, Milan, Munich, Zurich, and Frankfurt to name a few. Olympic and Aegean Airlines have a 50 minutes flight from Athens. There are a number of flights to Aegean and Ionian islands too.
•Priština, Kosova: Pristina International Airport provides flights to New York, London, Geneva, Zurich, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Stuttgart, and others. There is also another airport called Skopje International Airport, in Macedonia located 110 km from Pristina. Some of the airlines serving Skopje Aleksandar Makedonski International Airport are MAT(Macedonian Airlines), Adria Airways, Czech Airlines, Helvetic Airways, and Turkish Airlines.
•Chisinau, Moldova: A few of the airlines serving Chisinau International Airport are Moldavian Airlines, AirBaltic, and Turkish Airlines.
•Bucharest, Romania: Most of the flights, both domestic and international, land at the Henri Coanda International Airport. This airport is situated in Otopeni, about 18 km north of Bucharest. The city has direct connecting flights with main European capital cities. However direct flights to Bucharest from countries outside Europe or from the Middle East are comparatively rare.
•Belgrade, Serbia: Nikola Tesla International Airport serves Belgrade. Jat Airways is the nation's major carrier.
